Find the solution set. Write the solution set in interval notation and graph it on a number line.

4(7-w)+4w\ge 25

Solution

We start by removing parentheses:

28-4w+4w \ge 25.

After combining like terms, we have

28 \ge 25.

The variables have disappeared and we are left with a statement that is always true. This means that the original inequality is always true. All numbers are solutions. The solution set is the entire number line. We won't bother shading the entire number line, but we will write the solution in interval notation:

(-\infty,\infty).
